We feel strongly about giving back and supporting local beekeepers. Learn more below about our efforts and how you can get involved.
Since 2006, honeybees have been dying off at an alarming rate. Each year nearly 30% of honeybees are lost to a spectrum of unknown causes, a phenomenon popularly known as Colony Collapse Disorder, or CCD. Honeybees pollinate 1/3 of all of the produce we consume, making them an integral member of the food chain. As a small example of food sources that are threatened by CCD, honeybees pollinate 90% of apples and oranges and 100% of almonds grown in the U.S. In 2011, Honeydrop began the Buy a Bottle - Save a Bee initiative to help the fight against Colony Collapse Disorder and support local beekeeping nationwide. Through this program, a percentage of the profits from every bottle of Honeydrop sold are donated to local beekeepers to help build new hives and run important educational and community programs.
